Sydney Opera House Fireworks
About this Project
For many years now, Tri-Point has provided rigging assistance to the teams at Foti Fireworks and Howard & Sons Pyrotechnics for the installation of their jaw-dropping fireworks displays on the iconic sails of the Sydney Opera House.
For the 2023/2024 season, Tri-Point worked with Foti Fireworks on Sydney New Year’s Eve and the opening night of Vivid Sydney, and with Howard’s on the Australia Day 2024 Celebrations.
Designed by senior rigger, Gillian Huxley-Cathro, Tri-Point supplies, installs, and operates a custom winch rigging system to safely get equipment on to the sails.
Tri-Point’s riggers have to undergo a strict physical assessment before being granted access to the sails due to the nature of the claustrophobic climbs.
