Anish Kapoor ‘Sky Mirror’
About this Project
The first major exhibition of celebrated artist, Anish Kapoor, was put on by the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney. Tri-Point were engaged to install the “Sky Mirror”, a 10.6m wide concave dish of polished stainless steel, weighing in at 23 tonnes. The artwork was built at an angle pointing up towards the sky so that it’s surface reflected the ever-changing environment.
Pieced together by Kapoor’s team, with the assistance of our riggers, and with a little help from a boom lift and a crane, the structure sat in situ on the banks of Sydney Harbour for approximately 5 months, from December 2012 through to April 2013.
